Redfish

At the end of August we head to central Idaho for our annual camping trip to Redfish Lake.  We meet up with several families from Boise.  I think this is our 7th year camping together.  This is the only time of year we see most these families but we have a bond.  Not sure what it is but we spend 4 days laughing, playing, relaxing, eating, and just having fun.  Our kids look forward to Redfish Lake every year.  I look forward to our time there too.  People think it's so much work to camp.  Yes, there is prep work but once we're there, I relax.  Maybe it's the mountains.  Maybe it's no electronics.  Maybe it's the people. A little bit of everything.  Whatever it is we are already looking forward to Redfish next summer.

This is one of my favorite pictures.  Grace had caught a beautiful cutthroat trout. As she was taking the hook out of the mouth, blood squirted all over her.  Obviously, she thought it was hilarious!

How many people can you get around a firepit to cook s'mores?

I don't usually put pictures of me up but here I am loving a perfect s'more made by Brett.

At the hatchery watching salmon jump up ladders.  Really cool!

Brett and I went on mornings runs this year.  So relaxing and beautiful.  Thankful I have Brett!

Brought back 15 rainbow trout from our fishing afternoon.  Brett and Cameron prepared the trouts.  Unbelievably, every fish was eaten.  The kids loved them!

This is on the docks at Redfish Lake after church.  Beautiful morning!
