No Motivation

This morning when I woke up my first thought was, "When can I go back to bed?" I even got to sleep in until 7:30! I have no motivation to do anything. With laundry threatening to take over the house and dishes smelling up the kitchen I have decided to sit down and blog. Here's what been happing in the last little while.

House-yes, this is never ending but I love it. We have accomplished so much with our home. Over the summer we painted the house. This last month we finished installing windows, got the egress windows, replaced our main water line, put trim around the windows, and refinanced. I've also done a little indoor decorating (I'll post later). Lots of work but I love it!

Island Park- About a month ago the kids and I took off for a weekend in Island Park. We were there
with my parents and Lindsey's family. The weather was beautiful and fall was all around. We had a great time playing games, hiking, motorcycle riding and sitting in the hot tub. Love the colors!
Grandpa taught the kids how to start a forest fire with a magnifying glass. Great! Big Springs!

Books-We continue to be a family of readers. This summer we read Holes, Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of Nimh, Shiloh (loved!) and we started Hatchet. Our next book club book is The Witches by Roald Dah. We thought this would be a great book for October. I read The Count of Monte Cristo which was very look but very good. I reread The Lord of the Flies and of course The Mockingjay. Now I'm on to The History of Joseph Smith by Lucy Mack Smith. Porter and I have started the Percy Jackson series. Porter really loves the mythology. I found a Greek heroes book at DI and Porter loves it! I'd list what Meg is reading but this blog post is already too long!

Sports-Porter is playing soccer in Kimberly for the first time. He has a great coach and loves soccer! Porter has started focusing more on the game. He has scored lots of goals and I've been impressed with some of his moves. I continue to have a love/hate relationship with running. At the end of a beautiful canyon run last week I started getting sharp pains in my lower back. I've been in pain ever since. Do you think I stop running? No, because I love it. Oh, dear sweet running why do you hate me so? Before the back issue we headed to Boise to run "The Dirty Dash". I was on a team with my sister Angela, and 3 other girls. We were team "Speedy Sows". This was a blast! A 10K at Bogus Basin with obstacles including a giant slip and slide and a mud pit at the end. Meg & Porter participated in the "Piglet Plunge" which included the slide and mud pit. Great Time! Once again I am coaching Meg's basketball team. We practice twice a week with games on Saturday. I don't play much basketball anymore so this so lots of fun for me (and I hope Meg!). I am coaching with one of my good friends who is great at basketball. Hopefully, between the two of us we'll have a good year. Oh, and the girls will have fun too!
My dirty little piglets!
Go team Speedy Sows!

School-Megan, Porter and Grace started school last month. Meg & Porter started at Kimberly Elementary. Meg loves her teacher and was invited to be in an afterschool gifted and talented program at the middle school. We were a little hestitant at first because she's the only elementary student in the program. This is the first activity in a long time that Meg has actually been excited about. She can't wait to go! Brett & I have been in the class and talked to the teacher about our concerns. Hopefully, by January more elementary kids will be in the program. Porter is getting used to his new class. His teacher is a little too "artsy, crafty". I think I'll be giving her a call soon! Grace started preschool with 5 other pre-K kids in her class. She is our social butterfly, so I had no doubts she would love it!
Grace & Annie before preschool.
Off to school!

Wow! So does this count has having accomplished something today? I actually feel like getting up and doing something now. Or maybe not. I better go discover whatever mess Grace & Annie has made while I was blogging.
