Fantastic Mr. Fox (Breakfast & a Book)

I've missed a couple of our Breakfast & a Book Club. In April we read "The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle" by Avi. Not as many kids read this book but those that did loved the mystery and pirate adventure. May's book was "Fantastic Mr. Fox" by Roald Dahl. This book is short and fun and we had lots of kids who enjoyed it! We gathered on Friday night to watch the movie. Saturday morning we gathered for our book discussion. We shared our favorite parts and which characters we loved to hate. The kids realized books and movies are very different. Some of their favortie parts of the book were taken out of the movie. Hopefully, they get the concept that the book is always better than the movie! This month we're reading "Lincoln:A Photobiography" by Russell Freeman. Join in the reading! (The picture of the kids is not the greatest. That is Grace crawling on the back of the couch. She wouldn't sit still!)

  1. I love this Steph! What great ideas and what a fun way to involve your kids in reading.
