Christmas Eve
Christmas festivities seem to happen in stages. Our first stage is Christmas eve. Brett was home from work early this year.
The evening went so great! Sugar cookies, an early visit from Santa, bingo, salmon & shrimp, one gift exchange, and the kids to bed by 9! Brett and I wrapped presents while watching Christmas Vacation. It might been a little quiet but it was a great Christmas Eve. You might notice we having matching shirts. We started that tradition last year. We made them together last year. This year, I tie-dyed everyones and ironed on their name and year. Not sure I'll do it the same next year but I love Christmas pictures with matching shirts! Another tradition we've started is seafood on Christmas Eve. So yummy! This year the kids had to make their gifts to each other (okay, so I made most of them but the kids came up with ideas). They get to open those presents on Christmas Eve. We also put a new family ornament on the tree. It has a picture from the previous Christmas. With 10 different family ornaments we can really see how our family is growing and changing each year. From Brett & I's first Christmas in a tiny basement apartment to Christmas with 4 growing kids! Wow! It sure puts life back in perspective! More stages of Christmas to come in the New Year! I hope Christmas was wonderful for all of you!
