Our Grace

A couple of weeks ago we had a scary night with our little Grace. After an ambulance ride, a day in the hospital, lots of test we got life changing results. She has been diagnosed with benign rolandic epilepsy. We saw a pediatric neurologist in Boise last week who is an expert in this type of epilepsy. It sounds worse than it really is. Grace will (most likely) grow out of the seizures and they will happen at night. We don't have to worry about her at school, riding a bike, playing, etc. It has taken a couple of weeks to digest everything but I am so thankful Grace will be okay. She is a happy, healthy, active little girl. She loves to tell people her experiences in the hospital. She had the nursers and doctors laughing. She thought riding in the wheel chair was so cool! We have been so blessed by wonderful friends in Twin Falls. We had been in our new house just 2 days when this happened. Our new ward knew nothing but we had several friends that stepped up and watched the other kids, brought us meals, and were very supportive. They are our extended family! Through trials come blessings and we have been blessed!

  1. Steph,

You are always so positive! Your children are so blessed to have such a wonderful mom (and dad!) to help them through the challenges and trials of life. I am glad that little Grace will be okay. I too am a firm believer in the extended family we find in our wards and our neighborhoods. Further proof that our Father in Heaven loves us!

  2. Wow, that is intense. Let us know if there is anything we can do. You do so much for others, I'm certain your friends were just thankful for an opportunity to serve you (and I'm sure they felt like it wasn't even close to making it up to you.)

  3. If there is anyone who can handle this Steph, you can and will. You are strong and courageous with your feet on the ground. I know you do more for others than anyone even knows. It is a blessing that your friends had a chance to serve you. That Gracie is a sweet, funny, loving girl and we are so glad we get to be around her as much as we do. Love you all!
