Ahhh, the beach

A few weeks ago we took a family road trip to Southern California. While our target destination was Disneyland, we took a detour for an afternoon at the beach. We met my parents, sisters Kim & Linds and my cousin, Hollie and families at Huntington Beach.  It was sunny, beautiful, relaxing, fun, warm.  This was the first time the kids have really played at the beach (the Oregon Coast doesn't count!).  They loved it.  Brett played out in the waves and the kids didn't tire of the waves crashing against their legs. A cool highlight was a seal swimming right in front of us.  It was huge.  I couldn't help but think of what predator had chased it to shore!
Annie taking a break in the sun.

I think we could become beach bums!

Linds, Mom, Kim and me. (oh, and I think Porter hiding behind me.)

I love this pic of Meg.  She is beautiful!

Brett showed the kids how to dig for these little gross sand crabs.  As the tide went out they would dig in the sand and come up with handfuls of these crustaceans.

My Grace! This girl loved it all.

The kids have asked several times since we've been home if we could move to California.  I guess the swarms of people and traffic jams don't bother them.  They just enjoy the journey.  Don't think we'll move there but you never know!
