This past January Megan and Porter got the opportunity to learn how to ski. We have a great group of homeschooling families in our area. We signed up with them to ski every Monday in January at Pomerelle. This was a learning experience for all of us, but worth it! Megan & Porter got lessons then skied the rest of the day. Grace, Annie and I spent the day hanging out in the lodge, sledding, playing on the bunny hill and having a great time. I'd never been to Pomerelle. That place gets snow!! From one monday to the next they got 8 new FEET of snow. Wow! And they say this winter has been mild-not at Pomerelle! Brett skiied with the kids one Monday and he's just as hooked as they are. Next year hopefully the whole family will sign up (including me!). Skiing made January fly by and so glad we had this experience.
Chairlift fun! They look bundled but most days were really nice. The chairlift is the cold part.Loving the snow!
Skiing and sledding. Perfect!
Grace and Annie getting their chance to ski.
Like I said this was a learning experience. Driving up after one of the big snow falls-I got stuck in the snow. Had to be towed to the top. Then Meg got lost on a run. The only way out was to leave her skis and crawls through trees in the powder snow. Luckily, the snow patrol helped her find the skis. A few wipe outs but lots of learning. The kids were exhausted every Monday. Great workout during the winter. Megan skied last week with her school class. She was confident and had a great time. Pomerelle is a beautiful area and we look forward to visiting when there is not so much snow!
Yea!! New pictures of your winter fun. The kids are having such a great time. It shows in their smiling faces. Love them all!! You know in the day Grandpa Walker was quite the skiier. The kids make him proud.
